Individual Consultations

eceConsults offers confidential individual consultation related to a specific problem or issue. Such consultations may relate to an administrative/staff problem, a specific legal problem, the desire to develop an intervention for a child or family, a specific fund-raising need, or a specific conflict or communication problem.

Group Consultation

Consultations can also be arranged for entire staff groups within a program or entire programs. EceConsults founders Nikola Trumbo and Karen Fite and Penny Rand are available to visit your program and work with you, your staff, and/or your parents. Karen and Niki have 68 years of experience in the early childhood field. We have taught courses in Observing and Recording Behavior, Conflict Resolution, Play, Young Children with Special Needs, Working with Challenging Children, Social and Political Contexts of Human Development, and much more. In addition to elementary and college teaching, Karen was Dean of Pacific Oaks College for 10 years and was also an attorney working with child abuse cases. Niki is also a Marriage and Family Therapist and Child Development Specialist. She does play therapy with children and works with young children and their families in her private practice. She has also consulted to the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Early Childhood Programs, as well to numerous preschools in the Los Angeles and Seattle areas. Founder Penny Rand is also available to consult with you about your computer/networking/technical needs.

We can consult to your program in two ways. We can visit your program and work with you there observing, talking with staff or providing training and technical assistance on topics you select. This is a more traditional form of consultation and it can be expensive if we have to fly across the country to you.

We can also consult to your program online, meeting with you in a confidential forum. We can provide training and technical assistance online, and can even help your staff with children and families who present challenges to your program. Karen and Niki have been teaching online for Pacific Oaks College for the past four years and Penny's work is all online, so we are each skilled in online communication and have helped people less familiar with computers and the internet to learn and enjoy communicating online.

Contracts and Fees

Because online consultations are relatively new we will need to evaluate your needs. Issues to be considered are the accessibility of computers to your staff, everyone's comfort with online work, and the possibility that we would make a site visit to meet everyone face to face before we begin online work.

All consultation contracts are completely confidential.
